The historic season for the C.C. Winn Mavericks came to a hault on Friday, November 25, 2016 as they could not overcome a very talented Richmond Foster team, losing 55-0 at Comalander Stadium in San Antonio, Texas in the UIL Region IV Class 5A Division I State semifinals round.
The Mavs finished off their season with a school best 10-3 overall record and owning the title of District 29-5A Co-Champions. The Mavs also defeated Corpus Christi Carroll, 21-14 for the bi-district championship and then beat Laredo Nixon to secure the Area Championship. Congratulations to Head Coach Eric Villaseñor, coaching staff, faculty, parents as well as the players. Go Mavs!
