More than 20 members of the Eagle Pass Fire Department Local 4590 collected donations for the fire fighter’s annual Fill the Boot Fundraising Campaign to help the Muscular Dystrophy Association, or MDA, find urgently needed treatments and cures for muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases that severely limit strength and mobility.
MDA Fundraising Coordinator Margaret Adams said the EPFD was able to collect $1,997.07 this year.
“This is a tremendous collection for the first year, and I’m so proud to count the Eagle Pass IAFF Local 4590 as a supporter of MDA’s South Texas office,” said Adams.
Adams said EPFD was one of the most generous communities to participate in the campaign.
The contributions from Fill the Boot help support MDA’s efforts to raise awareness and provide professional and public education about neuromuscular diseases, and MDA’s effort to fund research and life-enhancing programs.
