The Eagle Pass Babe Ruth 13-year-old All Stars captured the Southwest Region Championship this past week in the tournament
held in Lincoln, Alabama. Teams from Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi participated in the tournament. Eagle Pass played a total of 5 games, going 4-1. They captured the championship by beating the team from Long Beach, Mississippi 4-3. With the win the Eagle Pass Allstars earned a berth to the 2017 Babe Ruth 13 year old World Series being held in Arkansas August 10, 2017 - August 17, 2017. The team consists of: Mathew Elizondo, Roly Jimenez, Ramon Kali Salinas, Eddie Sepulveda, Zack Zapata, Juan J. Garza, Omar Salazar, Izek Garza, Jarod Romero, Aaron Trevizo, Hector Gomez, Josue Jimenez and Fabian Velasquez. Coaches: Ramon Salinas, Jr., Julian Elizondo and Eddie Sepulveda.
