Werner Johnson, former General Manager of Ancira Ford-Mercury of Eagle Pass, has been let go after 13 years of service with the dealership.
Johnson has been extremely involved in the community, serving on various boards and committees. Most recently he was named Vice Chair to the Marketing Board for the Eagle Pass Business and Economic Development Initiative Executive Committee.
Johnson was also an outspoken advocate for the recent EPISD Tax Ratification Election on May 27, 2017. Several other longtime employees at the dealership have also left in the last several months.
Johnston was reportedly let go abruptly on Monday, July 10. Johnson is succeeded by Rodney Winn.
